Ever sit and tell your friends what you did on the weekend, and you can see in their eyes they are thinking...
"That boy just isn't right."
Well if that is the case then you are on the right page!
This page is for those who love to get out in the woods in full camo with their face mask on, crawling around hunting the hardest prey of all. The cunning involved as you try to reach your teams objectives, whether it is capture the flag, seek and destroy or hold the fort. It doesn't matter the spin on the game when it comes to airsoft, when your target hits you its going to sting! Personally I have to thank my son for getting me started in the airsoft world, I thought yeah it sounds cool but I don't know. Then he starts buying me a gun here and a gun there like a dealer hooking a kid and I walked straight into it. Now I am addicted! How intense can it get? Check out this link, from the good ole boys from:
airsoftpacific.com posted on Metacafe.com.
Now I am not selling, airsoft guns or products I am just spreading the word about how much fun it is and that SAFETY is a MUST! By all mean enjoy yourself but be safe and be smart. Most of the battles that we have are in a field in our subdivision, as a courtesy we notify the local sheriff dept and let them know ahead of time about our match. Common sense we are fighting in a public place with guns that look very real so, notify the guys with bigger guns what you are doing!
Some of our favorites, keep in mind the type of guns you want will be determined by the type of game you are playing. If you are doing urban building sweeps in your basement you will be fine with 100 to 150 feet per second (FSP) if you are going for it in the mountains and are spread out much further with longer shots then you will want something that will give you greater accuracy over a longer distance. 300 to 450 FPS. If you are psychotic like my brother Farley it don't matter what you buy it will be about 500+ FPS by the time you upgrade the springs and batteries! Yeah that boy isn't right either!

First off standard equipment: Put on your safety glasses! Don’t risk that eye injury that will last you the rest of your life! I recommend the face mask that you see here for the best protection they don’t cost much and believe me after taking a sniper round to the face a couple of times you will wonder why you didn’t get one sooner. The downfall to the full face mask is that it is a lot harder to see through your sites on those long shots so if you are a sniper like me you may want to carry smaller shooting goggles but when the heat is on you cant beat the full face mask. Also, it is vented which makes it easier to sew in dry grass and twigs to help conceal your position! |
